This information session is for anyone who is interested in volunteering for the World Leadership Congress (WLC) in Chicago this July! The WLC Leadership Team is excited to announce the Volunteer Application. We encourage prospective applicants to review the 2025 Volunteer Application Guide to learn more about role descriptions, volunteer expectations, and key dates.

Blake (he/him) is a 12-year HOBY volunteer with 8 years of experience at the WLC. He has served on the Operations team for the past 4 years and is thrilled to bring the WLC to Washington D.C. and ensure a seamless operational experience for volunteers and ambassadors.

Cy (he/him) is the 2025 WLC Chair. He’s a 2003 Cal-Central HOBY alum and has been volunteering with HOBY in various roles since. As a long-time volunteer, he's excited to focus on promoting the longevity of the WLC while working with our amazing leadership team to create a magical experience in July.

2026 WLC Vice Chair of Program

Leah (she/they) is the 2026 WLC Vice Chair of Program. After serving in the role in 2025, Leah is excited to return to the team and welcome a new group of ambassadors and volunteers to her home in Washington, D.C. She looks forward to working with the Program Team to deliver the WLC curriculum while reflecting D.C.'s cultural richness, history, and energy.
Mallory Orr (Moderator)
2026 WLC Chair

Mallory (she/her) is the 2026 WLC Chair. She is a 2009 HOBY Southern California alumnus who has volunteered with HOBY for the past 16 years, in various roles at HOBY California and HOBY WLC. In the HOBY world, Mallory serves on the California Board of Directors and outside of HOBY world she works in San Diego as a special education teacher. At this year’s WLC, Mallory is looking forward to working with the team to create an experience for ambassadors rooted in discovery, joy, and connection.

HOBY World Leadership Congress
Mark (he/him) is the WLC 2025 Vice Chair of Ambassador Experience. He is a 2008 HOBY Texas North alumnus and has volunteered for various seminars for over a decade including 9 years at WLC. Mark is honored to build and lead a community of facilitators focused on creating a positive, inclusive, and life-changing experience for the 2025 WLC student ambassadors.
