Info. Session: Volunteering at the World Leadership Congress (WLC)

This information session is for anyone who is interested in volunteering for the World Leadership Congress (WLC) in Chicago this July! Attend this info. session to learn more, or sign up on the WLC Volunteer Interest Form to receive application updates.

The WLC Leadership Team is excited to announce the release of the 2023 WLC Volunteer Application with a first-round due date for key roles on December 18. We encourage prospective applicants to review the WLC 2023 Volunteer Application Guide to learn more about role descriptions, volunteer expectations, and key dates.

Juan Mendizabal

WLC Chair

HOBY World Leadership Congress

Juan Mendizabal (he/him) is the WLC 2023 Chair. He is a 2007 Mid-Florida HOBY alumnus and volunteered with Mid-Florida and South Florida HOBY for over a decade, holding various director roles and the Leadership Seminar Chair role. This will be Juan's eighth year with the WLC, and he is ready to work alongside this year's volunteer team to create a world-class leadership education experience!

Chris Berry

2024 WLC Chair

Chris Berry (he/they) is the WLC 2024 Chair. He is a 2004 Southern California HOBY alumnus and has volunteered with HOBY California sites for 19 years in various roles, including as leadership seminar chair. He currently serves as chair of the HOBY California Board of Directors. This will be Chris's tenth year with the WLC, and he is excited to focus on empowering and supporting WLC volunteers as they plan and execute an incredible WLC this year!

Mark Broomfield

WLC Vice Chair of Ambassador Experience

HOBY World Leadership Congress

Mark Broomfield  (he/him) is the WLC 2023 Vice Chair of Ambassador Experience. He is a 2008 HOBY Texas North alumnus and volunteered with HOBY North Texas for over a decade. This will be Mark's eighth year with the WLC, and he is honored to lead HOBY's outstanding facilitation volunteers in this role.

Jasmine Johns

Jasmine Johns (she/her) is a 2007 Texas-Capital Area alumna and current Corporate Board President with nearly 15 years of volunteer experience.

Cy Serrano (he/him) is the 2024 WLC Incoming Chair. He is a 2003 California-Central HOBY alum and has been volunteering with HOBY at both the local level and WLC in various roles for 20 years. He is excited to work with this year’s fantastic Leadership Team to build an incredible experience for both ambassadors and volunteers.
